The Hawaii Open presented by the Hawaii Tourism Authority was a three-day professional tennis tournament held December 21 - 23, 2018, at the Blaisdell Arena in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii. The 2018 Hawaii Open was broadcast internationally on the Tennis Channel, serving as an invitational to kick off the 2019 tournament season. More than 15,000 fans from around the world attended the event to celebrate great tennis in Hawaii.
The tournament featured a world-class player field, including ATP World Tour No. 9 Kei Nishikori, ATP World Tour No. 18 Milos Raonic, WTA World Tour No. 13 Elise Mertens, and WTA World Tour No.18 Garbiñe Muguruza. Other players were Ryan Harrison, Monica Puig, Christina McHale, CoCo Vandeweghe, and local rising-star Andre Ilagan.
Off the court, the Hawaii Open’s picturesque setting provided players with the chance to relax and explore the island while sharing their adventures with millions of followers on social media.
The 2018 Hawaii Open included a VIP Player’s Party held at the Prince Waikiki, and a VIP Pro-Am held at Kailua Racquet Club.
The Hawaii Open was proud to host a Charity Session to benefit the Hawaii Community Foundation in support of those families affected by the volcano eruption on the Island of Hawaii. Participants included Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, actor Daniel Dae Kim, and LGPA player Michelle Wie. The event raised $10,000 to benefit the Hawaii Island Volcano Recovery Fund.
